Day 1: Arrival at NJP Railway Station/Bagdogra Airport (Siliguri) – Gangtok (120 km/125 km)
Arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station/Bagdogra Airport. An IHPL representative greets you and helps you with an assisted transfer to Gangtok. The largest and the capital city of Sikkim, Gangtok is also one of the most popular tourist destination of the state. Its serene laid-back ambiance, pleasant weather, monasteries and lush greenery over the mountains, allure visitors from all around. As you reach, complete the check-in formalities at the hotel. Thereafter, the evening is at leisure. Explore the nearby surroundings on your own or take a stroll towards the popular M G Road market. Overnight at Gangtok.
Day 2: Gangtok – Lachen (107 km- 3 hours)
On the 2nd day of the tour, begin driving for Lachen, a beautiful village, which is the initiating point (base camp) of a number of popular treks of North Sikkim. Placed at an altitude of 2750 m, Lachen boasts of apple orchards and mesmerizing views. This remote village becomes the home of Tibetan nomadic tribes in the winter season. On arrival, check-into the hotel. After check-in formalities, as the day is at leisure, you can visit Chopta valley, around 2 km away. During the summer months, the valley that is a real treat to the eyes, because of colorful all around. The contrast of lush green mountains and barren lands looks quite interesting. Overnight at Lachen.
Day 3: Excursion to Gurudongmar Lake – Lachen- Lachung
The day is scheduled for an excursion to Gurudongmar Lake, around 66 km away, placed at an altitude of 5425 meters. A sacred lake for Hindus and Buddhists, it is named after Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), Tibetan Buddhist sage who visited India. The lake looks milky-colored all throughout the year. Spend some peaceful moments here along with your loved ones. The source of Lachen Chu River, it never freezes even during extreme winters. Back to Lachen to complete the check-out formalities at the hotel.
Later, continue to your next destination Lachung (47 km away). The drive would take around one and a half hours. The evening is at leisure. Placed on a high altitude, this village is home to Bhutia and Tibetan people of the northern Sikkim region. It is also the base of treks to Yumthang and Yumesamdong. The place offers amazing views of snow-covered mountains, waterfalls, lush valleys and hot springs. Overnight at Lachung.
Day 4: Excursion to Yumthang Valley - Yumesamdong - Zero Point
On the 4th day, get all set for an excursion to Yumthang valley and Zero Point. Covered with snow-clad peaks, Yumthang is a verdant valley, a real treat to the visitors. Between the months of April and June, the valley appears to be all the more beautiful when Alpine, Primulae and Rhododendrons are in fool bloom. During winters, the place is covered with snow and boasts of never-ending beauty and serenity. Continue to Yumesamdong and finally Zero Point, these places are the end of the valley and civilization of the north Sikkim region. The road ends here. Admire the serenity and scenery spread all around. In the evening, return to Lachung. Overnight stay.
Day 5: Lachung – Gangtok (105 km- 3 hours)
Today, drive back to Gangtok. After the check-in formalities, the day is free for city tour of Gangtok. You can explore the prime tourist attractions such as Rumtek Monastery, Himalayan Zoological Park, Ganesh Tok, Tashi View Point, Institute of Tibetology and more. In the evening, you can splurge on shopping. Stay overnight.
Day 6: Gangtok - NJP Railway Station/Bagdogra Airport (Siliguri)
Today is the last day of the tour. Get transferred to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station/Bagdogra Airport to board a train/flight for your onward journey.
